Hints for data analysis
May 2004 data can be found in /castor/cern.ch/cms/testbeam/tkX5B/may2004/TEConly/ , TOBonly/ or TECandTOB/ depending on which sub-detector combinations you want. (Remember to include rfio: in front of the file name to open it directly from castor.)
Several software corrections are required to the standard ORCA 8.30 analysis software. You can follow the instructions described here to obtain them.
The detector geometry and cable maps can be found in the
ORCA directory Data/TrackerTBGeometries//X5bMay2004/TECOnly/,
TOBOnly or TECandTOB/.
They are documented in Data/TrackerTBGeometries/X5bMay2004/doc/.
Since the Cosmic Rack was running in two different configurations, you will find in the Data/TrackerTBGeometries//X5bMay2004/TOBOnly/ directory two subdirectories, "4rod" and "6rod". Use the "6rod" configuration for run numbers from 80183+. "4rod" currently is not up to date.
A description of the
running conditions during each run is available in the electronic log books
for the TOB and
TEC .
(You need to login to the TOB logbook with username & password = guest.)
All TEC runs have number 1-79999, all 4 rod TOB runs have number 80000-80182
and all 6 rod TOB runs have number 80183-.
